Meter Reader
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for reading utility meters to record usage data.
MAJOR DUTIES
Walks or drives a truck along established routes.
Reads meters electronically and manually to determine usage.
Reports theft of services.
Locates and repairs leaks.
Provides information and assistance to customers.
Re-reads meters as needed.
Maintains assigned vehicle.
Flags traffic at work sites as needed.
Performs related duties.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping. The employee
frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects.
The work is typically performed outdoors. The employee is exposed to dust, dirt, grease, and occasional cold
or inclement weather.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually
associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two
years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's licenses issued by the State of Georgia for the type of
vehicle or equipment operated.

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS AND PROPOSALS
YOUTH WRESTLING PROGRAM SERVICES
RFP# 2023-101-WRESTLING
March 28, 2023
Statements of qualifications and proposals are being requested from providers with a strong record in successfully assisting local governments with the implementation of a youth wrestling program and associated services. Responding providers should be qualified to provide an outline and structure for the program, estimated costs and a proposed budget for a 12-month program cycle.
Plans are to contract, within a year from the date of this notice, with a reputable provider for the implementation of a youth wrestling program.
Responding providers should be qualified to provide, but not limited to: Proposal of youth wrestling program, preparation of timeline, assistance with record keeping, assistance with agency and department communications.
Information which should be submitted for our evaluation is as follows:
Must be a 501c3
History of provider and resources
Key personnel/qualifications
Current workload
Scope and level of service proposed
Experience with similar projects and list of references
Fees associated with program implementation
Questions concerning this Request for Proposal (RFP) should be directed to the City Manager by email at asurratt@summervillega.org. The deadline for the submission of all inquiries is May 1, 2023.
Proposals must be received by 5:00 p.m. on May 8, 2023. Any proposals received later than the specified time will not be accepted/considered. We reserve the right to accept or reject any and all proposals and to waive informalities in the proposal process. Proposals must be submitted in sealed envelopes with "RFP# 2023-101-Wrestling" clearly marked on the outside of the envelope for easy identification by the City of Summerville. The City will not be responsible for late submissions caused by the postal service, other carriers, or any other delivery problems regardless of the reason. Hydrant Testing in Summerville
Ths Summerville Fire Department will be testing fire hydrants for the next two weeks in the Pennville Area. If you see a fire department vehicle stopped at a location, please follow the Georgia "Move Over" law for their safety and yours. Testing hydrants can stir trapped sediment in the lines and sometimes cause brownish or cloudy water. Citizens are asked to allow their water to run for a few minutes to flush their lines.
