City Manager: Tony Carroll, City Manager
The position of City Manager is appointed by the Mayor and Council. The City Manager is responsible for directing the daily operations of all City departments. Tony Carroll works closely with the Mayor and Council to ensure that the vision and mission of our elected officials is realized.
Tony was born and raised in Chattooga County. He has been employed by the City of Summerville for over 30 years. Tony and his wife Lynda have two beautiful daughters, Taylor and Gabbi Carroll.
Tony graduated Chattooga High School in 1984 and received an engineering degree from Kennedy Western University in 2004.
Tony's interests are fishing, golfing and traveling. He is active in the community, a member of North Summerville Baptist Church, Chattooga Lodge 704, Yaarab Temple, and several other professional and civic organizations.
Tony was appointed as City Manager October 1, 2016 after serving several months as interim City Manager. Being appointed as City Manager is a great honor as well as a great responsibility. Tony is looking forward to the challenge and making several goals a reality. Some of Tony's main goals are sidewalks along Highland Ave., Hwy. 27, and Northwest Congress St. Tony would love to see a splash park built at the recreation center. And of course, continued growth in the City's finances and infrastructure.
Tony has an open door policy. If any citizen has a problem or concern, please feel free to come by the office or call Tony Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Tony invites the public to attend Council meetings on the second Monday of each month.
